Your role and responsibilities

Are you an experienced editor with broadcast and digital experience? Do you love storytelling and share a passion for sport? If so, this Video Features Editor role could be just what you are looking for.

Predominantly this role is acting as a Video Features Editor for one of our key sporting clients, therefore a love of sport and knowledge of cricket is also desired. As Video Features Editor your main role will be to develop and create long form, narrative based content for digital and social channels. Storytelling is key. Within this role, there will be the opportunity to work as a vital member of Contented’s highly ambitious and evolving department responsible for creating powerful, narrative driven creative content.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Create narrative, story driven video output, for both digital and social channels

 

  • Act as a key member of the post production team who is responsible for delivering high quality output for one of our key sporting clients.

 

  • Offer solutions in idea creation, aiding both the team internally at Contented, and comfortable with making editorial decisions.

 

  • Support junior members of the edit team in their personal growth, helping the team progress with your own knowledge and experience.

 

  • Communicate with the account manager and producers daily to understand the needs of the client.

 

  • Report time spent on projects daily in our internal scheduling and time reporting application.

 

  • Strictly follow the project, delivery and folder structures in place to ensure all work is tidy and easily accessible to other members of the team.

Requirements of you

  • Have a minimum of 3+ years previous experience within a narrative based, documentary editing role.

 

  • Must be familiar with Adobe editing tools, particularly Premiere Pro and preference for After Effects.

 

  • Broadcast content experience is highly desirable, as being able to carve a strong narrative is essential.

 

  • A sporting passion, with a knowledge of cricket in particular.

 

  • A keen interest and knowledge in documentary filmmaking and post production, especially within the sporting world.

 

  • A willingness to be collaborative, both internally with the wider team and externally with clients

 

  • Ability to fit into an energetic, multi-disciplined post production team.

 

  • Motivation to produce high-quality, polished content.

 

  • Knowledge of colour grading and audio post production.

 

  • Organisational skills to adopt internal post production processes.
