The Challenge

We joined forces with Hyundai Motor and Discovery to help take

Hyundai’s innovations to a whole new audience with an original series of documentary shorts. The idea for the series came from a desire to inform people about the zero emission mobility revolution and inspire a change in perspective in our audiences.

With a particular focus on fuel cell technology - one of Hyundai’s biggest areas of expertise - the series would help get more people believing in the cause and drive audiences towards their vision for a better future.

But the real challenge? It was the height of the pandemic and we were scarcely allowed to leave our homes, let alone the country. And it just so happened that our contributors were in four different cities all across the globe. Our creative and production teams would have to get really creative to find new ways to shoot content through

ever-changing obstacles and restrictions.

WE TEAMED UP
WITH
SWISS PIONEER
AND HYUNDAI
AMBASSADOR
BERTRAND PICCARD.

Having spent his life pushing boundaries and exploring clean mobility, he was the perfect person to investigate Hyundai’s vision of ecomobility. Approaching his investigation with an inquisitive eye and a genuine thirst for knowledge, Bertrand coaxed out a real passion from our contributors, revealing a powerful story of harnessing technology for the greater good.

Having developed our ideas before travel restrictions were implemented, we had to adapt and find creative solutions to pull off a full-scale international shoot remotely. Local fixers and suppliers became our eyes and ears on the ground and we had to trust that our two crews would bring the vision to life.

A Better Way follows Bertrand as he travels through Europe, meeting the creative visionaries driving forward electric mobility, learning about the real-world applications of hydrogen fuel cell technology in Switzerland today and having his perceptions challenged by encountering zero-emission vehicles in high-performance motorsport.

In our first episode, we’re introduced to Hyundai’s vision

as Bertrand discovers and drives the pioneering hydrogen vehicles of today as well as looking into the plans for tomorrow. To understand how close we are to leaving

our dependency on fossil fuels behind and striking out

on a completely clean path.

In episode two, we travel to Gösgen, a small town in the heart of Switzerland, that is leading the energy revolution. It’s the epicentre of a new business case that aims to make hydrogen mobility a daily reality by integrating fuel cell trucks into the commercial transport industry. During his journey, Bertrand speaks with three other pioneers and explores the need for a shift to a hydrogen society and its environmental impact.
