Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Junior Designer whose passion revolves around bezier curves and tight neat kerning. Who's always aiming to create work that stands out in feed. Someone who sees a loosely designed internal deck that doesn’t quite hit the mark and goes ‘hold on, let me tidy that up for you.’ As well as an understanding of design and the processes required, you’ll need to be good at problem-solving on a day to day basis dependent on briefs at the time. Grasping basic design principles and making sure these are implemented across the board, in tandem with answering briefs with creative and dynamic graphic solutions. Alongside this a base knowledge of Motion Graphics, such as the creation of lower thirds, series title cards and parallax assets with a desire to learn and develop those skills. Working closely with senior members of the team to produce this work, whilst also gaining knowledge and skills to allow you to grow as a designer here at Contented and also hone your craft on a personal level.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
-
Creating and supporting the development of graphics for various clients, including internal Contented pieces and presentation decks.
-
Design bespoke and cutting edge work across all platforms.
-
Ensure compliance with company quality control and deadlines required.
-
Communicate with producers & clients, regarding the production and delivery of content.
-
Ability to learn fast and take direction from senior members of the team.
-
Develop your knowledge and understanding of principled design, tackling areas surrounding composition, hierarchy and typography.
-
Demonstrate the ability to rationalise design decisions and understand the balance between style and substance.
-
Build on your ability to digest and decipher brand guidelines as well as the nuances behind a brand’s identity system.
-
Become more familiar with Illustrator and InDesign as well as keeping project files clean and organised.
-
Develop an understanding of basic motion graphics, with a keenness to develop these skills further.
Requirements of you:
-
A strong base knowledge of the fundamentals of design practice, with examples.
-
Proficient in the use of Adobe CC, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
-
Knowledge of trends within both design and digital content, applying when needed to projects.
-
A strong sense of consistency, specifically when using brand guidelines.
-
A desire to develop skills within motion graphics, specifically assets such as lower thirds, title sequences and animation.
-
An interest in sport is desirable but not essential.
